Horia Hulubei Foudation announces an open computer programmer position for the implementation of the research project “Development of models and methods for computation of the nuclear matrix elements involved in the study of double-beta decay”.


The selected candidate will work in the field of numerical methods with application to double beta decay calculations. The main activities consist of :

  • Development of high performance computing codes for calculating phase space factors and nuclear matrix elements involved in double beta decay.
  • Dissemination of the obtained results within the framework of international conferences and publications in ISI ranked journals.

The required qualification of the successful candidate is at least baccalaureate degree, experience in computing and good knowledge of Fortran and C++.

The position is for six months, with the possibility of extension to one additional year, depending on performance and financing. The starting date can be as early as May 1st, 2014. The salary will be competitive and in accordance with the experience.
